When I picture a car built from scratch, it generally doesn’t come out looking like this. Coffee and Classics, an event held by FUEL magazine in Port Melbourne brought all manner of classics out of hiding. Ranging from Chevrolet vans to this hand-built beauty.
One of only a few in existence this Devaux Coupe was penned and built by a Melbourne based industrial designer, David Clash. The car looks like the results of a Bugatti Atlantic and D-Type Jaguar breeding program which is (as you can see) no bad thing. The chassis (a Lotus 7 style tube frame), body, interior and all other manner of fiddly bits are designed and built in house. Engines range from period correct Jaguar straight sixes to modern all-alloy LS1 V8s.
